Affordability = F!

College problems, especially in terms of affordability. Surprise surprise... a 10% increase in tuition every year makes it a little tough to keep attending college.

But the Salt Lake Tribune reports Utah received an F, and noted higher education in the state is becoming increasingly less affordable.

The affordability grade is based on how much of the average family's income goes towards college tuition. The report notes Utah's poor support for need-based financial aid. The Tribune reports the state spends just 8 cents for every dollar the federal government spends on Pell grants to Utah students.
