Consider me not a fan.

The Season's First Snowfall...

It snowed today.
Sure, it was only for 2 minutes.
Still, it snowed.
In September.

What the fuck?

Jinxes, And I Need A Book To Read

Do jinxes really exist?

Doubtful, but might as well try, no?
It's been a big issue on Jazz blogs late, as they continue to implode and we (fans) continue to try to drown out the jinxes (like Siler... maybe Luhm, don't remember) from the SL Trib mentioning that the Jazz would finish undefeated at home with no problem. Um... JINX alert!

Anyhow, at work, someone (no worries, I won't mention names Amanda) decided to put up APRIL (was there an exclamation point?) on the thing behind the front (employee service) desk. I mentioned that she should put up snow flakes (to try and jinx the snowfall)... instead, we got raindrops. And guess what? That's right... snow expected Friday. (After snowing today as well.) Can I blame her for jinxing the rain away? (I kid, I kid...)

Totally unrelated... I haven't been read anything but anatomy & physiology in the last bit, and that seems like it could continue (MCAT books expected in soon). I really need a good book. Haven't been in the library for a while, so I'm still waiting for a chance to overload on Agatha Christie books. John Grisham just released a book, it'll be a while before he gets a new one out. Michael Crichton (RIP dude) was working on a book... I wonder if it'll be released soon.

I need a book to read. I considered picking up Angels & Demons (love it!) or the likes, but I'd like to try something new (in the sense that I've never read it before). Of course, if all else fails, I could just go back to Moneyball or The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

April Fools...

So... today was April Fools. Yay! (or something like that)

I didn't see many 'Fools' on the interwebs, but there were a couple.

-Youtube had everything upside down and flipped. Interesting... really hard to see a video though. I saw this on my own... I remember Youtube sending all links to 1 video last year, so I wanted to see what they were doing this year.
-Google... a lot to read. I was confused. On the plus side... pandas! You can't beat pandas. Saw this on my own as well... a bit of a letdown in my mind, though that could be because I didn't read it.
-Gmail... a new "autopilot" system. Loved it... especially the examples they gave. Loved this...

Oh, and the next one (of the 3 examples they have) is great as well. My friend told me about this... I had no idea.
-Google chrome... 3D version, complete with 3D glasses. Great. They give you a PDF of the glasses to print out (seriously), and even have a pretend "download" thing if you click through (I got aforementioned friend to try). Learned about this from... Mark Cuban's twitter (@mcuban). Seriously.
-There's a writer of a blog that I follow (he's also on twitter) who had some fun as well... 2 men's restrooms on 2 floors... you can guess the rest.
-Mother Nature, who gave us snow in April (WTF?).

I didn't do anything.

March & Mixed Messages

As March draws to an end, the month continues to send out mixed messages.

First, the bad... (bad news travels fast)
-Two more quizzes left this month... both in anatomy lab. A normal quiz, and a superior bone practicum. (Sadly, I have 4 quizzes/tests the first 2 weeks of April.)
-Snow expected Sunday & Wednedsay (technically April, but it'll probably start on Tuesday night). It's spring! Stop snowing!
-Physics lab today. Ugh.

And the good... (good news is about as common as your normal unicorn)
-Duke lost yesterday! So did Memphis. While Memphis was a Final Four pick of mine, I'm all about the upsets now that my bracket has been ripped to shreds, burned, eaten by mice, and sh** back out.
-A fantasy baseball draft on Sunday.
-Baseball season is about to start... I think that's a good thing.
-The Jazz have a home game tomorrow night.
-My latest post on True Blue Jazz has gotten 39 comments so far. Most ever. (40 now.)
-March is almost over.

There's probably more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

My Poem About Snow

It's snowing today...
fresh powder on the ground,
a cold wind hitting my face
as I walk to my destination.

It snowed yesterday...
a slick ice covered the ground,
the trees blanketed in white
as I slipped every which way.

It'll snow tomorrow...
the clouds waiting to unload,
a peaceful calm in the air
as I stand and wait for the late bus.

Which brings to mind...
the question of life, the Universe,
and next week's weather forecast...

Where the hell is global warming when you need it?

Beautiful, isn't it?

Snow

So, it's snowing right now. A lot. In fact, we might have over a foot on the ground by tomorrow...

Which brings to question... why is the bookstore still open? Who, in there right mind (which, I admit... many people aren't), would think
"Hmmm... I can go to the bookstore & get 50% back (max) on my textbooks, or I can go buy some Sugar Bowl memorabilia or something, or I can stay home and not drive in a foot of snow and extreme cold.

I mean, fine, you want to sell your books back. Is it worth it given the road conditions & all though? Your life should be worth more than $50 or whatever you're going to get. And the Sugar Bowl stuff... you can still wait till next week.

Plus, they closed campus at 3 PM today due to the snow. If it keeps snowing, how can you open it back up tomorrow (a Saturday, no less)? God, I might not be able to even get to a bus stop in time, thanks partially to the fact that UTA IS STUPID! (More on that later, I promise.)

Man... it's frustrating to have to work on Saturday's in the snow. I just want to stay in bed...
