Breakfast & Memory

A TV commercial (bad source, I know) for Frosted Miniwheats stated that studies have shown that people that eat breakfast have a 23% better memory than those that don't.

Um... what? I eat breakfast daily (out of necessity), and my memory is better than those that don't? I call BS...

Super Bowl XLIII Recap

Solid game. The Cards get it going late, finally waking up and getting the ball to Larry Fitzgerald. The lead doesn't last for long though, as the Steelers drive back down and get an amazing catch from Santonio Holmes in the back corner of the end zone to go up for good.

The Cardinals played well, but the horrible officiating (it was bad, no questions asked) and the failed opportunities in the first half did them in. Oh, and why wasn't that last play reviewed? Seems kinda fishy.

Good 2nd half ads.
-Monster.com (the animal trophy in the room of the boss)
-CareerBuilder (the repetitions one, including the punching of a stuffed koala)
-Coke's picnic, where the insects steal his coke
-Usama Young NFL story
-Coca-Cola Zero, with Troy Polamalu taking his place in a twist on the classic
-Cash4Gold
-Pepsi's MacGruber commercial, with a great ending too

Movies?
-Race To Witch Mountain

What? (all night)
-Chuck's 1D commercials weren't very good. The show was fine though.
-NBC's lip-syncing spot.
-Budweiser focused on the horses too much this year... and they sucked.
-Heroes football spot was funny.
-Carlos Boozer for overstock. Ugh.
-Taco Bell made one mistake... I don't think it's recommended to woo a girl with Taco Bell.

Super Bowl XLIII at the Half...

Pittsburgh 17, Arizona 7.

Wow! What a way to end the half!!! James Harrison with a Super Bowl record 100 yard interception return for a TD at the half.

Best commercials.
-Doritos. Crystal ball.
-Doritos. Hit by a bus.
-Teleflora. Talking flowers.
-Cheetos. The birds.
-Pedigree. Get a dog.
-Go Daddy. Danica Patrick

Movies?
-Year One.
-Up.
-Monsters vs. Aliens.

Super Bowl XLIII

Ah... Super Bowl 43. Finally. After 2 long weeks of bickering about how the Cardinals are one of the worst SB teams ever and how the Steelers are gonna roll over them, we'll finally get to see what goes down in Tampa Bay.

The Cards are led by an explosive offense, anchored by the passing game (Kurt Warner, Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Breaston) and complemented by a running game that has finally woken up in the playoffs (Edgerrin James, Tim Hightower). The defense wasn't very good during the regular season, but has also woken up in the playoffs, helped tremendously by the fact that the DL is getting pressure. That has made it a lot easier for the secondary. And the run D has been solid as well.

The Steelers are led by a very strong defense, running the 3-4 as well as any team out there and led by mastermind DC Dick LeBeau. Blitzburgh, anyone? Meanwhile, the offense is led by the running game (Willie Parker, Mewelde Moore) and complemented by their passing game (Ben Roethlisberger, Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes, Heath Miller).

So, it seems like it'll be a true test... offense or defense?

Truthfully, all I really want to see is a good game. No blowout (like we've seen with Tampa Bay over Oakland or Baltimore over the Giants in recent years), just a good, close game. Part of me wants the Cards to win (underdog pride!)... the other part wants the Steelers to just crush them (revenge for what they did to my Panthers).

Oh, and hopefully we have good commercials. Last year's weren't too good, and this year isn't looking too promising with no FedEx (remember the dinosaur/caveman one from a couple years back?) and the bad economy. Hopefully Audi can make better car commercials than your average Ford/GM/Chevy/etc. one. Hopefully Budweiser is still on top of their game. Oh, and 3D commercials... what?
