That Converter Box...

I'm pretty sure I'm the last one to have connected my TV to one (after all, the change happened almost 2 months ago), but in case anyone else is still out there, I'd recommend looking past the RCA STB7766G1.

It's not bad or anything, but there are a couple of issues.

First... there's no option to look and see what is on TV after the current shows. I know other boxes & newer TVs have that... this doesn't come with the option. Kinda annoying.

Second... and maybe it's just mine, because I'm not seeing the complaint anywhere else (or maybe it's my 'old-as-hell' TV), no matter which button I press ON EITHER REMOTE (the original one for the TV, or the one that came with the converter), all it does is change the channel. Channel up? Done. Volume up? No change, but the channel goes up. Channel down? The channel goes up. Mute? Next channel. Info? Next channel. Menu? Next channel. Changing the volume with the TV remote? Next channel. Yeah... it's kinda annoying.

Oh, and I think there's something wrong with my TV. It showed Vince Young throwing a TD pass...
