So... there was a gas leak on/around campus.
I'm not quite sure where... I was at work when one of the buyers came out and mentioned it.
We were finally evacuated after spending too much time trying to figure out how we were going to get home (they blocked off the road the bus I take goes on, a co-worker lives close by but probably wouldn't have been able to cross the street, and 2 more parked at the Institute building, which was closed & evacuated earlier).
I did get a ride from a coworker, but I have to let it be known...
I'm really not a fan of gas leaks.
Getting out of work a bit early is nice, I guess (though I'd much have preferred a normal day, the normal route home, and an extra hour's pay)... but not with all the confusion that was caused by it.
Oh... and I still haven't gotten the text that the U sends (I signed up for it!)... 'campus alert,' I think. You know, the one where they mentioned that the campus was closed. I did get an email though, which is weird. Normally I get texts. Wonder why they changed it today.
And I prefer texts. While I do check my email often, it's not something I do very often at work. So it's not very helpful in that case.
