The War Is Won

There was a ferocious war yesterday, between the cardboard monsters* that had taken over the area and those** that spent the days there, working. It got to the point of war, as those that worked there decided it was time to show the recent conquerors off to a better location***.

So a war was waged, with weapons of mass destruction**** and other weapons^ used by both sides. In the end, the war was won by the original residents of the location^^. There was only one casualty, and it was a poor individual^^^ that had no interest in the war or anything going on, and was barely involved in the war. But he paid for it, ending up paralyzed for life^^^.

*= broken down cardboard boxes
**= the part-time workers
***= the cardboard trailer outside
****= a cart with wheels, and the nearby elevator
^= ice & snow outside, hands, the cold
^^= the textbooks department
^^^= my left pinkie, which was underneath the cardboard boxes the whole time
^^^^= a cardboard cut that bled through 3 towels & 2 band-aids before finally clotting

It was a hard-fought battle, or at least a long one (3 hours) in which the conquerors had a huge numbers advantage (most of the trailer was filled up, by just 3 of us).

How I managed to get cut, though, is still boggling me. The pinkie never hit the side of the cardboard or anything... so how'd it get cut? And why'd it keep bleeding? That's the most I've bled in a very long time.
